Description	:	Emma Louise Ballinger, 87, of Elk Point, South Dakota, passed away on Tuesday, January 17, 2017 at her home. Emma was born August 31, 1929 in Brooklyn, New York, to Albert and Mary Louise (Wolf) Weisenburger. Her senior year of high school, she moved to California where she graduated from high school. She married Donald Tucker in 1949 and together they had 5 children. She became a single parent for several years until she met and married Reynold Ballinger in 1971 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Elk Point. Read More	Emma Louise Ballinger, 87, of Elk Point, South Dakota, passed away on Tuesday, January 17, 2017 at her home. Emma was born August 31, 1929 in Brooklyn, New York, to Albert and Mary Louise (Wolf) Weisenburger. Her senior year of high school, she moved to California where she graduated from high school. She married Donald Tucker in 1949 and together they had 5 children. She became a single parent for several years until she met and married Reynold Ballinger in 1971 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Elk Point. She had a lifelong passion for genealogy and anything historical. She was a member of the Union County Historical Society, Woodbury County Genealogical Society along with many other groups. She was an active member of her church and community. She was a loving, generous, and giving of both her time and resources to the loved ones and charitable causes. She enjoyed the farm and gardening and the country life after being raised in a big city. She enjoyed bowling for all her life and belonged to several ladies leagues. Survivors include her five children, Samuel (Ruth) Tucker, Katerine Tucker, Daniel (Karen) Tucker, Elizabeth Nunn, and Michael Tucker. She had 12 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. She had three step-children, Steve Ballinger (a long-time companion, Donna Stinecipher), Janice Matlock, and Bruce (Kim) Ballinger; and eight step-grandchildren, and nine step-great-grandchildren, and expecting one more, all of whom she adored. She was preceded in death by her parents, her half-brother, LeRoy Quinn, and a half-sister, Ellen; three close aunts, Grace, Michelle “Mike”, and Ellen; and both of her husbands, Donald R.
