Read More	MRS.EMMA BAXTER DIES AT HOME AT RIDGEVILLE Ridgeville, Oct 24,1925 "Special to The State"--Mrs Emma Baxter, one of the oldest residents of this place, died here at her home Sunday evening. Mrs. Baxter was 81 years of age and was a highly esteemed Christian woman. Her entire life was given to benevolent service; her delight was in rendering relief to the sick and giving aid to the needy. Although rearing a large family of her own, she adopted and brought up six others who were either motherless or fatherless. Her funeral was conducted at the Methodist church here, of which she was a lifelong and faithful member,in the presence of a large concourse of friends and relatives. Her pastor, the Rev. Mr. Easterling conducted the services, assisted by Rev. Mr. Gleaton, after which the body was interred in a family plot at the Cypress Cemetery. The floral offerings were numerous and beautiful. Mrs. Baxter is survived by the following children: Mrs H. Brown, Mrs J.A. Green, Mrs B.B. Pooser of Charleston, Mrs. D.D. Smoak, Milton Park, Miss Minnie Baxter and Mrs W.W. Hilton of Ridgeville, Mrs J.E. Baxter of St Cloud, Fla., G.W. Baxter of Branchville and D.M. Baxter of Reeseville. (posted in "The State" Newspaper
