OBIT: Fort Madison Democrat BILES - At the residence of her sister, Mrs. Ida Honea, 1601 Sixth Street, Fort Madison, Iowa, at 6:45 a.m. Friday, November 5, 1915, Mrs. Emma Pearl Biles, aged 24 years 6 months and 5 days. The deceased came to this city three weeks ago for a visit with her sister, Mrs. Honea, and during her sojourn here she was taken ill, her sickness ultimately resulting in her death. Emma Pearl Jones was born at Montrose April 30, 1891, and as a young girl lived in this city for ten years and attended the public schools. She completed her education at St. Mary's convent at Nauvoo. There she was united in marriage with Joseph W. Biles March 22, 1911. To them one daughter, Geraldine, was born. After her marriage Mrs. Biles lived with her husband in Ottumwa and Washington, Iowa prior to marking their residence in Burlington at 211 South Garfield Street, which was the home at the time of her demise. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church and of the Mystic Workers. Her mother and nine brothers and sisters survive her; Mrs. John A. Jones of Burlington; Mrs. Ida Honea of this city, Mrs. Myrta Brayshaw of Ottumwa, Wm. Jones or Burlington, Frank Jones of Blue Grass, Iowa; Edgar Jones of Muscatine, John T. Jones of Fort Madison, Miss Faith Jones of Burlington, Mrs. John Schmidt of Raton, N.M., and Miss Patience Jones of Burlington. Funeral from the Honea residence, 1601 Sixth Street, Sunday afternoon at two o'clock, the Rev. Graham officiating; interment at Cherry Hill cemetery. A second obituary says she died at Sacred Heart Hospital.
