Description	:	Mrs. Emma Randine Rear, daughter of John C. and Rachel [Grath] Olson, was born Aug. 6, 1882, in Clayton County, and passed away at a hospital in Cedar Rapids on Monday morning Dec. 2, at the age of 75 years. Emma Olson was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith at Marion Church in Gunder, and attended the rural schools near her home. She was married to Henry Rear and the family lived on a farm near Clermont. Some years after her husband's death, Mrs. Rear moved to Clermont where she lived until about two years ago.... Emma Olson was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith at Marion Church in Gunder, and attended the rural schools near her home. She was married to Henry Rear and the family lived on a farm near Clermont. Some years after her husband's death, Mrs. Rear moved to Clermont where she lived until about two years ago. She had recently lived with her children in Cedar Rapids and Shellsburg. Her family included two daughters, Ellen, Mrs. Don Stevenson, and Bessie, Mrs. Vincent Ernst, both of Cedar Rapids, and five sons: Elmer and Walter of Shellsburg, Alfred of West Union, and Clarence and Millard, of Clermont. Besides her family she is survived by two brothers, T. J. Olson and Adolph Olson, also two sisters, Mrs. John Olson and Mrs. Conrad Rhinehart. She was preceded in death by her husband, two brothers, Ole and Henry Olson, and one sister, Mrs. Mary Houg. The funeral was held Wednesday afternoon Dec. 4, at the West Clermont Lutheran Church. Arthur Amundson sang two solos with Agnes Bilden at the organ. Casket bearers were Myron and Sylvan Houg, Henry and Kenneth Olson, Harry Amundson and Verdell Hulbert.
