Description	:	Emma Salome Langenwalter, the child of Jacob Bress and Mary Schmidt Bress, was born July 18, 1894, at St. Jacob, Ill. In infancy she received the Sacrament of Holy Baptism. She vowed her faithfulness to her Lord in the rite of confirmation in her youth at Troy, Ill. On Aug. 4, 1912, she was united in marriage to John Langenwalter. This union was blessed with five sons, Wilbur, Orville, Vernon, Earl, and Neil, and three daughters, Leona, Ruth, and Mildred. For many years she made her home in the town of Newell. She was a devout Christian and a devoted mother. For the past several years she suffered failing health and on May 1 was admitted to the Buena Vista County hospital. Death... Death came to her suddenly and unexpectedly Tuesday evening, May 9, 1972, at the hospital. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her son, Orville, who died in World War II in the service of his country, by three brothers, and one sister. Left to mourn her passing are four sons, Wilbur of Lohrville, Vernon of Placentia, Calif., Earl of Waterloo, and Neil of San Diego, Calif.; three daughters, Leona, Mrs. Eldon Witzke of Newell; Ruth, Mrs. B. C. Wirkus of Manson, and Mildred, Mrs. Wayne Robinson of Nemaha; one brother, Walter Bress of Troy, 111.; one sister, Julia Noll of St. Jacob, 111.; 22 grandchildren and 23 great-granchildren; and other relatives and friends.
