She was united in marriage to Mr. Royal A. Harlow, of Hebron, Maine and quite early in their married life they moved to Neosho Falls, KS. One child was born to this union, but lived only a few months and lies buried at Neosho Falls. After several years of widowhood, Mrs. Harlow was united in marriage to Mr. Alonzo W. Howland of Geneva, KS and for the remainder of their lives lived in and near this community. One child was born to this union but it also passed away in infancy. However the mother love was given freely to the children of Mr. Howland and those who remain are here today as a token of love and respect for the one who became to them a mother. In 1888 Mr. and Mrs. Howland came to Iola and here Mr. Howland passed away on November 3, 1909. Mrs. Howland remained in the home until death called here from the things of earth to the things of another world. In early life she was a member of the Congregational Church but in later years let her membership lapse. However those who knew her know also that her interest in the things of God did not lapse. She was a member of the Ladies Aid Society and of W.F.M.S.M. of the Methodist Church and her devotion went out to that church. She enjoyed prayer in the home and many times we have found blessed fellowship with her in the things of God. She is survived by one step-son Ralph A. Howland, of Wichita, KS, also one step-granddaughter, who is also an adopted daughter Mrs. Evelyn Karr of Wichita, KS. Short services were held at the home Saturday morning, conducted by Rev. C.I. Coldsmith. Services were also held at the First Methodist Church at Neosho Falls, conducted by Rev. Coldsmith and Rev.Grantham. Marker in the Geneva Cemetery. ***********************
