Born in Eureka, February 26, 1914, Emma was the daughter of Jacob and Mamie (Bieber) Strobel. Emma was baptized Lutheran and later in life was a faithful member of the United Methodist Church in Eureka. On November 26, 1933, ahe married Arthur Henry Hausauer. They lived on a farm six miles north of Eureka where they were blessed with two daughters, Marian and Irene. They truly enjoyed working in the closeness of the Lord as farmers. She was preceded in death by her husband Arthur on November 30, 1964. In 1966 she retired and moved to Eureka where she continued pursuing her joys in life, caring for her children and gardening. In September 2003 she moved to Watertown, South Dakota, to be closer to family and eventually moved to Brookings. All memorials will be forwarded to St. Jude's Children's Research by Emma's family. She is survived by two daughters, Marian (Keith) Clark of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, and Irene Bartol of Mesa, Arizona; six grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Preceding her in death were her husband, parents, four brothers, six sisters, and two stepsisters. Funeral services will be 2:30 p.m. Saturday, October 23, 2010, from Lien-Straub Funeral Chapel, Eureka, with Pastor Bob Duemig leading the service. Burial follows in the Eureka Cemetery.
