Mrs. Clements died suddenly at her home southeast of Creighton on the previous Tuesday evening. The Rev. Bazil Anderson, church pastor, was in charge of the rites. Mrs. Clements died suddenly at her home southeast of Creighton on the previous Tuesday evening. The Rev. Bazil Anderson, church pastor, was in charge of the rites. The body was laid to rest in Greenwood cemetery. Emma Susan Lewman was born on June 2, 1872 at Luilla, Iowa and died at Creighton at the age of 70 years, 6 months and 28 days. When 12 years of age, she moved with her parents to Nebraska. She was united in marriage to Charles Barnes in 1889. To this union two children were born, Christopher A. and Ethel M. Mr. Barnes preceded her in death in 1894. In 1897 she was united in marriage to "Walter N. Clements. To this union nine children were born, Asa, Wayne, Ray, Mrs. Nellie Rohrer, Mrs. Louis Scheinost, Mrs. Chester Luckert, Mrs. Vivian McDowell, Mrs. June Wilson. A daughter, Etta, died in 1925. Mrs. Clements united with the Friends church at Kemma in 1912. She had been a life long Christian and a kind and loving mother and wife. No task was too great for her to undertake. In the time of trouble and sorrow, she always met it with an understanding heart. She was ever devoted to her family. She is survived by her husband, 10 living children, two brothers, Thomas of Iowa and John of Norfolk and one sister, Minnie Richmond of Missouri and many other relatives and friends.
