Read More	Partial obit from Schleswig Leader: The brief announcement last week of the death of Mrs. August Stender at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Martin C. Miller in this city, caused the most profound sorrow in the community. Her death is all the more to be regretted from the fact that the family had just about got moved to town, where they had expected to enjoy their declining years to ease and comfort. But a kind Providence had ruled otherwise, for she was not given the privilege of enjoying even one day in her new home. She was a genial and pleasant woman, her chief aim in life being the comfort and happiness of the home circle, but nevertheless ever ready to lend a helping hand to those in need. By her kindly traits and always pleasant manner, she won to her a host of admiring friends, who will regret deeply her untimely death. Emma was born in West Lanenhorn, Schleswig-Holstein, Germany. She came to this country and to this county in 1882. She was united in marriage to Mr. August Stender on the 27th day of November 1884. To this union were born six children, namely Carl, Willie and Theodore, Agnes now Mrs. Martin C. Miller; Leonora, now Mrs. Willie Miller and Hermine, now Mrs. Julius Iwen. All these children together with her husband are left to mourn the loss of this good and true wife and kind and loving mother. She is also survived by a brother in Germany and by nine grandchildren. The funeral was held Sunday afternoon from Friedens church, and was largely attended, showing the high esteem in which she was held.
