Original Record Located: County Clerks Of Book:C- 8 OS Page: 306 Obituary for Emma Valentine Dunwiddie from the Evening News of November 12, 1910, as well as in the Bluffton Chronicle of November 16, 1910: "MRS. FRANK DUNWIDDIE DIED THIS MORNING. LITTLE SON AND DAUGHTER ARE ALSO SICK WITH TYPHOID FEVER. Mrs. Emma Dunwiddie, wife of Frank Dunwiddie, a well-known young farmer residing near Reiffsburg, passed away at 10:50 o'clock this forenoon, after a sickness of almost five weeks from typhoid fever. Her life had been in the balance for several days, and when the end came, the immediate relatives were all at her bedside. The decedent was a daughter of Joseph and Catherine Valentine, and was born in this county about 38 years ago. Seventeen years ago, she was united in marriage to Frank Dunwiddie, and they lived happily since their marriage in the neighborhood where both had spent practically their entire lives. She was a sincere christian, and was universally beloved by her wide circle of relatives and acquaintances. She is survived by a loving husband, and by hour children, Flossie, the oldest, aged 16, Henry, 12, Marie, 10 and a baby girl, not yet a year old. Her father died a number of years ago, but her mother, Mrs. Isaac Shoemaker, and two brothers, Samuel Valentine, of this city, and Charles Valentine, living west of Petroleum, survive to mourn her death. To add to the distress of the mother's sad death is the dangerous illness of two of the children, Henry and Marie, both of whom are also sick with typhoid fever, and in a serious condition. The funeral of Mrs. Dunwiddie will be held at the Reiffsburg Methodist Episcopal Church Monday afternoon, at two o'clock, in charge of the Rev. B. F. Hornaday, and burial will take place in the Garnand Cemetery."
