Jean was born in Albion on January 17, 1930, to William R. Bartlett and Annie K. "Jessen" Bartlett. She attended the Albion school until 1945, when then her parents moved to the Potlatch Idaho area. She graduated at Potlatch high school in 1947. She then returned to Albion when her parents built then operated out of their home, a gas station/grocery store located on front/main street. In 1951 she married Jack L. Goodnough from Deary, Idaho, and together they moved to Utah where Jack was stationed in the Air Force. In the fall of 1952 after the birth of their daughter, Jean moved back to Albion to her father's home/store, while Jack was re-stationed to Germany. Upon Jacks completion of his tour in 1953, they bought the home/store, remodeled it, and made it their home where they raised their four children. Jean was a stay at home mother, taking in ironing/wash and running a day care, and at times a foster home, for tiny newborns waiting to be adopted. She was an active member for the Albion Community Church, and held many women's bible studies in her home. She helped open, then operated, the Albion Christian School. Jean loved to quilt, do bead work, puzzles, and crosswords and was a great "hard to beat" scrabble player. Her kitchen table was the central hub of the home, where all were welcomed with a warm smile and big hug, cups of hot coffee/tea, plenty of eats. She was easy to talk to, eager to share her faith and gospel, and a loving and caring councilor and caregiver to all she met. In 1986 after Jack passed away...she spent the next 19 years traveling with family and friends at every opportunity, while still remaining active with her church and community. In 2005 she fell in love and married a dear friend, Bob Harrington, of Clarkston, WA, where she resided with him for the next eight wonderful loving years, until her death. She is survived by her husband, Bob; children, Kay Sproule and husband, Steve, of Roseburg OR, Barbara Smith and husband, Steve, of Spokane WA, Conrad Goodnough, of Las Vegas NV, and Carol Leach and husband, Kelly, of Bonners Ferry ID; 12 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; her brother, Bill Bartlett and wife, Norma, of Potlatch ID; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends. Visitation for family & friends will be at Kimball Funeral Home in Pullman, WA Saturday Feb.2 & Sunday Feb.3 from 1:00-4:00pm. A graveside service will be held Mon,. Feb 4, 2013 at 2:00pm at the Albion Cemetery. A celebration of her life will be held in April at the Albion Community Church. The family wishes memorial donations are sent to the Albion Community Church to be distributed to missions that Jean supported.
