Cedar Rapids Gazette Thursday 11 May 2000 Emogene Debes, 77, died Tuesday night, May 9, 2000, in Mercy Medical Center, Cedar Rapids, after a long illness. Services: 11 a.m. Friday, St. Mark's Catholic Church, Edgewood, by the Rev. John Friederick. Burial: church cemetery, with military rites. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. today at Leonard Funeral Home, Edgewood, where a Scripture Service begins at 4 p.m., and after 10 a.m. Friday at the church. Survivors include her twin brother Everett Smith Jr. of Waterloo; and three sisters, Kathryn Schurman of Edgewood, Muriel Redfern of York, Neb., and Lila Helms of Cedar Rapids.
