Doty, a little more than seventy-four years of age and a resident of Clay county for the past twenty-three years, died on Monday morning, May 7, 1923, at his home at 161 West First street. Emory Martin Doty was born December 17, 1849, at Moddersville, Michigan, and came to Iowa when a young boy. He was married January 14, 1880, to Miss Alice Bricker, the marriage taking place at Marshalltown. Mr. Doty is survived by his wife and by the following children: Mrs. J.W. Emory Martin Doty was born December 17, 1849, at Moddersville, Michigan, and came to Iowa when a young boy. He was married January 14, 1880, to Miss Alice Bricker, the marriage taking place at Marshalltown. Mr. Doty is survived by his wife and by the following children: Mrs. J.W. Gross, Curfew; Mary Doty, Seattle, Washington; Byron A. Doty, Albuquerque, New Mexico; W.H. Doty and Flocia Doty of Spencer. There are also six grandchildren, Emery, Paul, Donald and Marion Cross, and Berneta and Robyn Doty, the latter the children of Mr. and Mrs. Byron Doty. One brother, A.R. Doty and a sister, Mrs. Mercy Reisinger, live at Marshalltown and another sister, Mrs. Jennie Gehring, lives at Kansas City, Missouri. The funeral services were held yesterday afternoon at the M. E. church. Interment was made in Riverside cemetery.
