Description	:	Wife of Sigbert Olson --------- Engevor Furteet was born in Norway in 1849 and married in 1871 to Sigbert Olson. They came to America in 1880 and settled at St. James, Minn., moving one year later to Sheldon, Iowa, where they lived until 1915, in which year the husband passed away. Mrs. Olson then moved to Arnolds Park and has made her home here since then. She was the mother of twelve children, five of whom, four sons and one daughter, died in infancy and early childhood while the parents were yet in Norway. Of the other seven, five are left to mourn the... Read More	Wife of Sigbert Olson --------- Engevor Furteet was born in Norway in 1849 and married in 1871 to Sigbert Olson. They came to America in 1880 and settled at St. James, Minn., moving one year later to Sheldon, Iowa, where they lived until 1915, in which year the husband passed away. Mrs. Olson then moved to Arnolds Park and has made her home here since then. She was the mother of twelve children, five of whom, four sons and one daughter, died in infancy and early childhood while the parents were yet in Norway. Of the other seven, five are left to mourn the loss of their mother. These are Mrs. Sena Johnson, Somina, Calif.; Mrs. Lena Elston, Arnolds Park; Mr. John Olson, Muscatine, Iowa; Mr. Elvin Olson, Minneapolis, Minn.; Mr. Kris Olson, Janesville, Wisconsin. Mrs. Olson was a life long member of the Norwegian Lutheran church and was actively interested in its affairs. During her residence in Sanborn she devoted herself to nursing, being especially successful with children, tho her work covered a much larger field. Many are those whose aches and pains were relieved by her kindly ministry. Mrs. Olson passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs. C. B. Elston the evening of December 7, 1931. The end came peacefully and for her it "was light at eventide." 82 years of earthly life and toil, she now rests from her labors. Obituary is published in the Spirit Lake Beacon, Dec. 17, 1931. --------- Note: Local library cemetery records have her name as Engobor Olson with the burial date of Dec. 3, 1931, and the WPA Iowa records have her name as Engabar Olson with the death date of Dec. 11, 1931. The name and death date used on her memorial is from her obituary. ---------
