Description	:	Enoch DEASON is listed in Anson County, NC census records in 1790 and 1800. Sometime after the 1800 census, Enoch and Rebecca moved to Bedford County, TN. (Tennessee was part of NC until 1796, and Bedford County, TN was created December 3, 1807.) In Early History and Research of Bedford County, Tennessee, authors Timothy and Helen C. Marsh state, "Enoch and Rebecca Deason had settled here by 1812, on a 270 acre Tennessee Grant that was then open land, later in the possession of General Andrew Jackson, the man of the hour and an acquaintance of Deason." Marsh state, "Enoch and Rebecca Deason had settled here by 1812, on a 270 acre Tennessee Grant that was then open land, later in the possession of General Andrew Jackson, the man of the hour and an acquaintance of Deason." Enoch served 210 days in Militia during 1781 under Col. Marshall. Enoch is listed in 1820 census records of Bedford County, TN. May 1829, Enoch joined Enon Primitive Baptist Church in Bedford County, TN. September 1829, Rebecca joined the same church. This is related in church minutes. Enoch's Will is dated January 20, 1830. Rebecca is listed, living alone, in the 70/80 age category, in the 1830 Bedford County, TN census. Bedford County, TN records state that 'Widow Deason lives at Fall Creek and Turnpike Road.' Rebecca died either March or April 1837 in Bedford County, TN. His Will: From: "Tennessee Trails" through Bedford County at: http://genealogytrails.com/tenn/bedford/willdeason.html ENOCH DEASON I, Enoch Deason, considering the uncertainty of this naturall life and being of sound mind and memory (blessed be Almighty God for the Son) do make and publish this my Last Will and testament in manner and form following, that is to say, First, given and bequeathed unto my beloved wife Rebecca Deason for lifetime if she should be the longest lived, all the properrty, perishable and unperishable, to wit, negroes, household and kitchen furniture and stocks of various kinds and that the clear profits shall be appropriated for the maintenance of my beloved wife Rebecca aforesaid entirely, no trading or trafficking of any of the above property without the --- of my term and legal assign. 2nd Item, I give and bequeath unto my daughter Martha Rushing which I heretofore lease her. 3rd Item, I give and bequeath unto my son William Deason $577.00 which I heretofore loaned to him. 4th Item, I give and bequeath unto my daughter Nancy Rushing $36.00 which I heretofore loaned her. 5th Item, I give and bequeath to my daughter Milly Rushing $24.00 which I heretofore loaned her. 6th Item, I give and bequeath unto my son Absalom Deason $301.00 which I heretofore loaned him. 7th Item, I will and bequeath unto my son Absalom Deason $169.00 which I heretofore loaned him. 8th Item, I will and bequeath to my son Joel Deason $58.001 which I heretofore loaned him. 9th Item, I give and bequeath unto my daughter Belinda Cooper $37.00 I heretofore loaned her. 10th Item, I give and bequeath unto my daughter Rebecca Loyd $12.00 which I heretofore loaned her. 11th Item, I give and bequeath unto my grand son Joel R. Deason $63.00 I heretofore loaned him in full of his legacy. 12th Item, I give and bequeath unto my grand daughter Elicy Halby $35.00 at the distribution of the aforesaid profibs after the death of my wife Rebecca. The tract of land and premises whereon now I live, I give and bequeath unto son John Deason to be wholly his property; The other profits shall be divided so as to make each legatee equal counting in what they have already had given by my will. My grand son Joel Deason, son of William Deason my son, an equal part with my nine above named children and if any child is had more than there will be property to make the rest in proportion to that one or more, the rest shall not have received of such a legatee for anything, and I do wholly and positively appoint authorize and empower my son John Deason and my son in law Joseph Rushing both citizens of this County, to wit, Bedford, my two and lawful executors and assigns, and wish them at such times as may become necessary to divide the above property or such property as may be given by suitable .... and give it out as will be according to my above request and they my executors shall led and direct so that there shall be no unnecessary exceptions of said properties my son John Deason and son in law Joseph Rushing.
