Description	:	Enoch owned a farm on the headwaters of Carraway Creek, Randolph Co., NC, and divided the land among his sons. He was a successful farmer, good liver and model in the community. In his early days, he was a wagoner. He made many trips to the coast, taking produce down and houling salt and molasses to the interior. Read More	Enoch owned a farm on the headwaters of Carraway Creek, Randolph Co., NC, and divided the land among his sons. He was a successful farmer, good liver and model in the community. In his early days, he was a wagoner. He made many trips to the coast, taking produce down and houling salt and molasses to the interior. He was a faithful member of Marlboro Monthly Meeting of Friends. The distance to the church was abour four miles. They traveled in a wagon. To keep warm on the journey in cold weather they often heated stones and put them in the wagon to their feet. On one occasion, the rags used to handle these stones we thrown back on the porch, and after they had driven away, they ignited and set the house on fire. When they returned from church, they found their house in ashes. This was a hard blow, but soon a large new house was built with the beautiful timber from his large adres. He owned a large tract of land from which each of his sons secured a farm. Homeless people often found a home in his house, and many a weary traveler found shelter overnight.His home was always open to traveling ministers. He died in his ninety-third year, and was buried in Marlboro cemetery. Mary Stanton Farlow died the Spring of the same year that Enoch died in January. The most vivid mental picture of Grandmother Farlow is she is sitting at her little spinning wheel in the old kitchen by the large fireplace, plying her task to provide clothing for her family. She, too, lies in Marlboro cemetery by her husband. -Enoch Edward Farlow.
