He did stay in touch with some of his children as he was living in Webb Twp., Dewey Co., OK, next to the family of his daughter Tabitha Gardner Parker in 1910. He must have returned to Virginia for a time as he was restored to membership in the Indian Creek Primitive Baptist Church, Indian Valley, VA in February of 1915. About 1918 he lived in Clear Creek Township, Ashland Co., Ohio. The 1920 Federal Census finds Enoch living with his sister Ally J. Mabry in Cuivre Twp., Audrain, MO. He returned to Ohio and often showed up at the home of his daughter Susanna Duncan and her family who lived on the edge of Ashland, Ohio. "Grandpa (Enoch) was always sick. He called it 'catarrh'. He wandered from place to place, mal-nourished and lonely. Mother (Susanna Duncan) finally got him in at the county home." "Grandpa was miserable anytime I ever saw him. Too sick to enjoy life."
