Description	:	—Ephriam T. Gooch died at his home in this city between 7 and 8 o'clock last Saturday night, April 28, 1906. His death was a great surprise to our people, as but few knew of his dangerous condition. He was confined to his bed but a few days, and when first taken he predicted his death, said the end was near. Read More	—Ephriam T. Gooch died at his home in this city between 7 and 8 o'clock last Saturday night, April 28, 1906. His death was a great surprise to our people, as but few knew of his dangerous condition. He was confined to his bed but a few days, and when first taken he predicted his death, said the end was near. He was conscious up to within two or three minutes of his death and bade those about him good-bye. He was born in this county May 23, 1846, and was therefore nearly 60 years old, and had been a familiar figure on our streets here ever since we can remember. He was subject to a severe and constant affliction and for many years the joys of life were not for him on account of his affliction. He belonged to one of the pioneer as well as one of the best families in Shelby county, being a son of the late William Gooch, and a brother of John S. and Warren Gooch. Funeral services were conducted at the Presbyterian church by Rev. O. P. Blayney and assisted by Rev. O. E. Wagner at 10:30 a. m. Monday. Burial in I. O. O. F. cemetery.
