Description	:	Jun 7, 2013 Franklin News Post Era King Furrow, 94, of Callaway, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 4, 2013. She was born on August 1, 1918, in Franklin County, the daughter of the late Tom and Dolly King. She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Buren L. Furrow Sr. (Wild Bill). She was also preceded in death by sisters, Hattie Cannaday, Pauline Hutchinson, and Alpha Ramsey; and two brothers, Aaron King and Chester A. King. She was a long time employee of Elizabeth Arden. She was born on August 1, 1918, in Franklin County, the daughter of the late Tom and Dolly King. She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Buren L. Furrow Sr. (Wild Bill). She was also preceded in death by sisters, Hattie Cannaday, Pauline Hutchinson, and Alpha Ramsey; and two brothers, Aaron King and Chester A. King. She was a long time employee of Elizabeth Arden. After retirement she and Bill enjoyed their garden and cooking and visiting family and friends. She is survived by one son and his fiance, B.L. Furrow Jr. and Alease Hatcher; one daughter and her husband, Lynda and Henry Messenger. She is also survived by five grandchildren and their spouses, Eric and Kim Messenger, Nicole and Craig Caron, Steven and Lettitia Furrow, Donald and Wendy Messenger and Matthew and Dana Furrow. She has eight great-grandchildren. In addition to her children, she is survived by two sisters and one brother-in-law, Lula and Coy Holley and Mary K. Toler. Also, she is survived by her brother and his wife, Arthur and Tessa King. Mom also had two young men, Sonny and Jody Hodges, that lived with her and daddy, who were very close to her. The family would like to thank all of the friends and family that helped care for Mom over the years. We would especially like to thank Joe and Beverly Rutter, for the love and kindness they showed Mom and her family for past two and a half years. They are truly special to all of us. Funeral Services will be conducted from Lynch Conner- Bowman Funeral Home (town chapel) at 2 p.m. on Thursday, June 6, 2013. Interment will follow in the Pigg River Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. Arrangements by Lynch Conner-Bowman Funeral Home, Rocky Mount, Va., 540-483-5533.
