Description	:	DIED: 22 March 1924 Erasmus, whose father's name was Lars, and his wife Ane (Bryne) Lewis, were both natives of Norway. They came to the United States after reaching manhood and womanhood and were married in Wisconsin, locating in Union township, Story county, Iowa, in 1864. [According to the 1900 census, Erasmus had emigrated from Norway in 1856, his wife in 1864, married 38yrs.= 1862] Mr. Lewis became highly successful as a farmer and acquired extensive land holdings but has disposed of all of his property except the old home farm of two hundred acres and is now living... Politically he has been connected with the republican party and although his attention was mainly given to his private affairs, he served for a number of years as township trustee and also in other offices.
