Description	:	Died-Tuesday, March 26, 1895 from the effects of blood poisoning, Erastus Warner, aged 77 years, 3 months and 3 days. Father warner's last illness wa brought on by a slight accident a few weeks ago. Which passed almost un-noticed at the time, but which was fatal at its final results. He was closing a barn door when in some manner, his left had was struck against a projecting nail and a slight flesh wound made. The deceased was an honest and honorable man in all the walks of life in which he was called to pass through, and although his life has been spared beyond the allotted time, it is with the profoundest sorrow that his demise is recieved by those who knew him. The funeral serices were held Thursday from the M.E. church in charge of Rev. Shirk and were largely attended. The Following is a brief sketch of his life: Erastus Warner was born December 23, 1817, near Rochester, New York and died at his home in Smithland, Iowa. He removed to near Detroit, Michigan at the age of fifteen and was married February 16, 1837 to Miss Melvina Billings. in 1838 they moved to Noble County, Indiana, and from there to Bremer County Iowa in 1885. They came to this county in 1882 and for the past six years have lived in Smithland. he leaves a wife, three sons, and four daughters to mourn his loss. He had been a member of the M.
