Description	:	Erma was the eldest of five children born to Ralph and Mamie Collie. She attended grade school and high school in Athens Township, graduating from Athens High School in 1931. On May 31, 1931, she was united in marriage to Walter Eugene Holloway. To this union three sons and one daughter were born. Except two of the next 50 years they resided on the Holloway farm in Jewell County. The two year interlude they spent on the Collie farm when Erma's parents moved into Mankato, Kansas. She attended grade school and high school in Athens Township, graduating from Athens High School in 1931. On May 31, 1931, she was united in marriage to Walter Eugene Holloway. To this union three sons and one daughter were born. Except two of the next 50 years they resided on the Holloway farm in Jewell County. The two year interlude they spent on the Collie farm when Erma's parents moved into Mankato, Kansas. After her children had grown and established homes of their own, Erma resumed her education at Kansas Wesleyan University in Salina, Kansas where she received her Bachelor of Arts in Education in 1961. She taught for the next three years in Browns reek, Athens, and Randall. She was in many church related functions, including playing the piano for services at the Mayhew Christian Church and later at the Jewell Christian Church, she was the associate organist at the church. She unselfishly shared whenever asked and encouraged her children and music students. Erma generously shared her many talents with her family and community. Her special talents included music, needle work, drawing and poetry writing. Erma belonged to the Athens HDU. unit, the Jewell Civic Improvement Club, the Rebekah Lodge and recently been elected secretary of Rural Anns and was serving as president of the Jewell Christian Church CWF up to the time of her passing. Erma was preceded in death by her mother and father and a sister; Dorothy Huntsinger. Survivors include her husband, four children, twelve grandchildren and five great grandchildren, one brother and two sisters.
