She was born on Feb. 13, 1931 at Steinauer. She attended St. Anthony's Parochial School and graduated from Steinauer High School in 1949 at St. Anthony's Catholic Church at Steinauer and they lived and farmed near Tecumseh until moving to Sterling in 1969. Hindera, 81, of Sterling, NE. died at Gold Crest Retirement Center in Adams on Saturday, Oct. 13, 2012. She was born on Feb. 13, 1931 at Steinauer. She attended St. Anthony's Parochial School and graduated from Steinauer High School in 1949 at St. Anthony's Catholic Church at Steinauer and they lived and farmed near Tecumseh until moving to Sterling in 1969. She worked at Campbell Soup Company and the Johnson County Hospital both in Tecumseh. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and the Altar Society of the church. She enjoyed crocheting, sewing, fishing, gardening and doing word search books. Survivors include one son, Dennis Hindera and wife Lois Jean of Sterling: three daughters, Gloria Pethoud and husband Mike of Adams, Bev Harms and Linda (Poncho) Tuxhorn both of Sterling; nine grandchildren. 11 great grandchildren; one sister, Aladean Schuck and her husband Dean of Beatrice. two brothers, David Schmit and wife Maggie of Waverly and Paul Schmit and wife Theresa of Steinauer. several nices and nephews; four sisters-in-law, Chris Hindera and Donna Hindera both of St. Mary, Chris Monteleone of Omaha and Marie Schmit of Steinauer. She was preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Josephine Ullman Schmit, her husband Adam, who died July 31, 2008, and a twin brother Robert Schmit. Mass of Christian Burial was held October 17, 2012 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in St. Mary with Father Tom Dunavan celebrant. Burial was at the St. Mary's Catholic Cemtery of St. Mary.
