Description	:	Billings Gazette (MT), 6 March 2001 Erma Lambert Calef Smith Erma Smith passed away March 3, 2001, at Aspen Meadows. She was born to Anton and Anene Lambert on March 26, 1900, at Skarum, Denmark. She came to the United States with her family to homestead at Flatwillow in 1914. She later worked at some of the large ranches in that area. She married the love of her life--Harry "Tom" Calef on April 26, 1920, at Roundup. Tom passed away in 1954. Read More	Billings Gazette (MT), 6 March 2001 Erma Lambert Calef Smith Erma Smith passed away March 3, 2001, at Aspen Meadows. She was born to Anton and Anene Lambert on March 26, 1900, at Skarum, Denmark. She came to the United States with her family to homestead at Flatwillow in 1914. She later worked at some of the large ranches in that area. She married the love of her life--Harry "Tom" Calef on April 26, 1920, at Roundup. Tom passed away in 1954. Erma later married Dewey Smith in Great Falls and they enjoyed many good years until his death. Erma and Tom Calef worked for Standard Oil of California in the drilling business. Erma then went to beauty school and then bought a beauty shop in Cut Bank, which she operated for many years. She and Tom were also involved in the oil business until Tom passed away. She was proud to say she was a lifetime member of the Eastern Star. Erma moved to Great Falls where she lived until Sept. 1998, when she moved to Billings to Aspen Meadows. She celebrated her 100th birthday there on March 26, 2000, surrounded by family and friends. Erma was preceded in death by her parents, 10 siblings and two husbands. She is survived by special nieces and nephews, great-and great-great-nieces and nephews all over Montana. Cremation has taken place. Graveside services will be held later in Roundup.
