Erna Inez Norton was born January 12, 1939, to Clayton and Lucille (Conn) Norton in Aberdeen, SD. Her family lived on a farm on Dean Highway for a while when she was young. Erna lived in Mansfield where she worked with Francis 'Fritz' Breidenbach at the Mansfield Bar which he owned. On June 22, 1968, they were united in marriage in Winner, SD. They made their home in Winner where they did road construction. Erna operated the steam roller. In 1971, they returned to the Aberdeen area where they worked on area farms until moving into Aberdeen in 1989. Erna was a waitress at the Oasis Bar and Lounge and worked at the R&A Bar. She later worked as a housekeeper at the Holiday Inn Express. Her last job was working as a dietary server at the Presentation Convent. Erna was a lifetime member of the VFW. She was also a member of the Eagles where she loved to play Bingo every Saturday night. She knitted and crocheted many lovely baby blankets and afghans. Erna loved watching NASCAR races. Grateful for having shared Erna's life are her sisters: Joyce (Charlie) Kiefer of Rapid City, SD, Wendy Roth of Lamar, MO, Sharon Olson of New London, Minnesota, and Susan Burt (Brian Ackerman) of Aberdeen; and many nieces and nephews. Preceding Erna in death are her parents, Clayton and Lucille Norton; her husband, Fritz Breidenbach; and her siblings: Irene Her, Clifford Norton, Esther Moler and Floyd Norton. - Spitzer-Miller Funeral Home
