Description	:	Erna Magdalena Will, 89, passed from this earth to her heavenly home on Feb. 12, 2011, at Knife River Care Center, Beulah. Erna was born Sept. 5, 1921, on a farm north of Zap, to Henry and Margaret (Wiedrich) Pfenning. Read More	Erna Magdalena Will, 89, passed from this earth to her heavenly home on Feb. 12, 2011, at Knife River Care Center, Beulah. Erna was born Sept. 5, 1921, on a farm north of Zap, to Henry and Margaret (Wiedrich) Pfenning. She was the middle child of a family of nine and grew up on that farm and attended a nearby country school. At a young age, Erna worked for area families helping with the household duties. Erna attended Bible College in Lemmon, S.D., where she met her husband, Henry Will, whom she married at the Ree Church of God, Ree, N.D., in 1943. In 1947, they moved to Beulah, where they raised their six children and spent the remainder of their lives. Henry, an employee of Knife River Coal Mine, preceded her in death in 1995. Erna was an active member of the Beulah Church of God serving as a Sunday school teacher, vacation bible school teacher and youth leader. Erna's love for her Savior, Jesus Christ, was reflected in her life as she cared for family members and friends. She spent much of her time in prayer for those in need. She was employed by the Beulah Community Nursing Home for about 20 years. Erna enjoyed being part of the German Singers, reading, quilting, embroidering and listening to Gaither videos. Erna's six surviving children and grandchildren will always remember her delicious German cooking. After suffering a debilitating stroke in 2005, she entered the Knife River Care Center in Beulah, where she remained until her passing. She is survived by three sons, three daughters, two daughter-in-laws, three son-in-laws, nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one sister, Olga Margaret Christman, Ozark, Mo.; and one brother and five sisters-in-law, Edward (Erna) Pfenning, Bismarck, Adeline Pfenning and Agnes Will, Bismarck, and Bernice Pfenning and Lucille Pfenning, Beulah. She was preceded in death by her husband; an infant son, Henry Christian; one grandson, Luke VanBruggen; brothers and sisters-in-law, Albert and Ethel, Otto and Lorraine, Reuben, Richard and Art Pfenning; and a sister and brother-in-law, Bertha and Fred Wentz.
