Semin and Hattie Rerucha Semin on April 4, 1910, at Ulysses, Ne., and passed away December 17, 1990, at the Lincoln General Hospital in Lincoln, at the age of 80 years, 8 months and 1 days. Semin and Hattie Rerucha Semin on April 4, 1910, at Ulysses, Ne., and passed away December 17, 1990, at the Lincoln General Hospital in Lincoln, at the age of 80 years, 8 months and 1 days. He was one of four children in the family. Ernest lived at home in the rural Ulysses area until 1932. He was married to Lucille Hamsa of Linwood, on April 23, 1932, and to them two children were born. After their marriage, Ernest and Lucille moved to Staplehurst where they farmed from 1932 to 1959. During that period he was joint owner of S&M Lumber Co. of Staplehurst. He also operated a local livestock and general freight trucking. In 1959 they moved to Exeter where he owned and operated the Semin Welding and Repair Shop until his retirement in 1974. Ernest had a lawn mower repair and service business in his garage until 1988, when his health prevented him from continuing.Ernest was a member of the United Methodist Church in Exeter. Ernie was preceded in death by his parents, Mike and Hatie Semin, and one sister, Eva Cink. He is survived by his wife, Lucille of Exeter; son, Roy of Lincoln; daughter, LaNelle Mouldin of Tulsa, Ok.; brother, Edmond of Ulysses; sister, Evelyn Carson of Garden Grove, Ca.; 2 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Funeral services were conducted from the United Methodist Church in Exeter Thursday, December 20, 19990, at 2 p.m., with the Rev. Robert Barrick officiating. Mrs. Margaret Votipka accompanied Mr. Robert O. Rhodes, who sang "What a Friend We Have in Jesus" and "How Great Thou Art." Pallbearers were Frank Rouch, Dick Manning, Ed Votipka, Bob Trauger, Gail Heffelfinger, Scott Semin. Interment was in the Exeter Cemetery. The Nebraska Signal December 7th, 1990 page 14.
