He was a patient there since August 1994. Born Feb. 17, 1913, in Knapps Meadow, he was a son of the late Andrew Brodie and Christina (McKinnon) Brodie, natives of Scotland. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Hildred (Kroll) Brodie, on Sept. 20, 1994. Mr. Brodie was the last of his immediate family. Mr. Brodie was a member of the American Legion Post #189, Barton, and the Alvin C. Neat Post #5280, V.F.W., Lonaconing. Surviving are one daughter, Shirley M. Fresh and husband, Bill, Frostburg; one son, Richard E. Brodie, Fort Dodge, Iowa; two grandchildren, Bryan Cosner, Frostburg, Jenifer Brodie, Plattville, Wisc.; two great-grandchildren, Brittney Cosner and Shauna Proud, both of Frostburg; and several nieces and nephews of the Krolls; one sister-in-law, Dorthea Timney; and two brothers-in-law, Lloyd Kroll and wife, Helen, and Olen Moody. The family will receive friends at the Eichhorn-McKenzie Funeral Home, P.A., Lonaconing, on Monday, March 22, 1999, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Services will be held at 4 p.m. with the Rev. Jimmie Blair officiating. Interment will be in Oak Hill Cemetery, Lonaconing.
