Description	:	A very sad accident took place Sunday afternoon about five o'clock at the top of the hill just west of Boonsboro and but a short distance from the Catholic cemetery. The families of A.W. Fitch and Joseph Strine of the Fifth ward were taking a drive to the river. They were in a spring wagon and had two horses tied to the wagon box and were leading them. Read More	A very sad accident took place Sunday afternoon about five o'clock at the top of the hill just west of Boonsboro and but a short distance from the Catholic cemetery. The families of A.W. Fitch and Joseph Strine of the Fifth ward were taking a drive to the river. They were in a spring wagon and had two horses tied to the wagon box and were leading them. Just at the top of the hill a covered wagon came in sight. This frightened the two animals hitched behind and caused them to make a sudden lurch to the side of the road. This tipped the wagon and all the occupants were thrown to the ground with considerable force. All were badly shaken up but none sustained serious injuries but the three year old son, Ernest, of Mr. and Mrs. Fitch. When picked up he was unconscious. The little fellow was brought home to 510 college streets in the Fifth ward and Dry Deering called. An examination was made and though no bones were broken it was found that he was badly bruised and the spine injured. Medical aid was of no avail and the child died at 8 o'clock that evening. The funeral was held Tuesday at 11 o'clock from the Marion street M.E. church, the funeral sermon being preached by Rev. O.F. Shaw. The remains were interred in Rose Hill cemetery. The family of the deceased have the community's sympathy in their hour of sorrow.
