Description	:	LEONARD, ERNEST GEORGE—Ernest George Leonard was born December 26, 1893, and died December 16, 1916, aged 22 years, 11 months and 20 days. He was born in the home where his parents now live, and had lived in this community all his life with the exception of a few months spent in Colorado on his claim. He had just returned to spend the holidays with his people when the sad accident occurred which cost him his life. Read More	LEONARD, ERNEST GEORGE—Ernest George Leonard was born December 26, 1893, and died December 16, 1916, aged 22 years, 11 months and 20 days. He was born in the home where his parents now live, and had lived in this community all his life with the exception of a few months spent in Colorado on his claim. He had just returned to spend the holidays with his people when the sad accident occurred which cost him his life. He went forward in the union meetings last winter, thus expressing his faith in Christ. There are left to mourn a loving father and mother, four brothers, Harvey A., Charles E. of Red Lion Col., Olin, Guy and Emery; two sisters, Mrs. Lulu G. Robinson, and Katie E. Leonard, with other relatives and many friends. Those attending the funeral from a distance were Dr. and Mrs. Doty of Concordia, Kas.; Mrs. Eva Cross of rice, Kas.; Mr. and Mrs. Frank Bailar of Red Lion col., and William Meehan of Friend, Neb. The funeral was held in the United Brethren church, conducted by the pastor, E.R. Baber. The floral gifts were very beautiful. Choice music was furnished by the Congregational Church. The church was crowded despite the severe weather, thus manifesting the sympathy and esteem of the people. Ernest was a good dutiful and loving son, full of life and good will towards all and had many warm and admiring friends. The Nebraska Signal December 21st, 1916 page 1.
