Description	:	Ernest H. Jordan, 70, who died May 5 at the home of his daughter, Mrs. William H. Burdick, was born November 2, 1877 in Brownsville, California, the son of David N. and Anna (Livermore) Jordan. When he was 2 1/2 years of age his mother died and his father brought him to Maine where his boyhood days were divided between the home of his grandmother, Mrs. Hannah Livermore in Sebec and that of his aunt Mrs. Dr. Charles Hussey in Guilford. Burdick, was born November 2, 1877 in Brownsville, California, the son of David N. and Anna (Livermore) Jordan. When he was 2 1/2 years of age his mother died and his father brought him to Maine where his boyhood days were divided between the home of his grandmother, Mrs. Hannah Livermore in Sebec and that of his aunt Mrs. Dr. Charles Hussey in Guilford. In 1899 he married Miss Tena R. Burdin of Dover. To them were born 2 children [Earl?] J. now of Camden and [ ] Mrs. W. H. Burdick of Dover-Foxcroft. His adult life was passed almost entirely in Sebec on the Job Dow farm which he had purchased at the time of his marriage and where he was a highly respected and successful farmer for many years. In the spring of 1944 due to failing health he sold his Sebec farm, and Mr. and Mrs. Jordan have since occupied an apartment at the home of their daughter. Mr. Jordan's death was the termination of an illness dating from October 1947 during which he was tenderly cared for by his wife and daughter assisted by Mrs. Alta Herring of Guilford. Surviving besides his widow, son and daughter are 2 grandchildren, Carol and Charlotte Burdick of Dover-Foxcroft; 2 grandchildren by adoption, Mrs. James Leighton of Limestone and Mrs. Robert Richards of Camden; and several cousins. Services were conducted May 7 at the Lary-Annis funeral home by Rev. C. D. Nutter and interment was in the family lot in the Poole section of the Dover cemetery.
