Description	:	Ernie was the only child of Leo and Mildred Chilcoat Lange. In 1943, Ernie graduated from Marysville High School and then served in the Navy Air Corp during WWII. He attended the St. Louis School of Mortuary Science. After returning to Marysville he was co-owner of Kinsley Mortuary with Francis Long. He went on to own and operate Band Box Cleaners and worked for the Union Pacific Railroad as a fireman. Ernie was the press foreman at The Marysville Advocate before retiring after 34 years. In 1943, Ernie graduated from Marysville High School and then served in the Navy Air Corp during WWII. He attended the St. Louis School of Mortuary Science. Ernie was the press foreman at The Marysville Advocate before retiring after 34 years. He served Marysville as a Councilman and Mayor. He was a member of Evangelical United Church of Christ, American Legion and volunteered at the Marshall County Historical Society. Ernest enjoyed being outdoors, hunting, fishing and farming. He was a leader of the Boy Scouts. Being with family and doing activities together was especially important. Dancing, camping, and traveling were among his favorite pastimes. On November 24, 1946, he was united in marriage to Margaret Tangeman at the Evangelical United Church of Christ in Marysville. Ernie is survived by his wife, four sons, one daughter, 15 grandchildren, 5 step-grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.
