Marker OBITUARY THE CHARITON HERALD-PATRIOT Chariton, Iowa Thursday, September 15, 1927 ERNEST OLLA HENDRICKSON Ernest Olla Hendrickson was born in Marion county, Iowa on June 19, 1909, and after a few days illness, departed this life at the Lutheran hospital in Des Moines, Iowa, on September 4, 1927, aged 18 years, 2 months and 16 days. Ernest was the youngest child of a family of fourteen children, six of whom have preceded him in death. His father departed this life four years ago. He moved with his parents to Lucas, Iowa where they resided for a number of years. Four months ago Ernest and his mother moved to Carlisle, Iowa, where Ernest has worked for the United Clay Products Co. While at work he was taken ill and on Wednesday, August 31, he was taken to the hospital where he underwent an operation. Everything was done for his recovery but to no avail. He passed from this life of pain and suffering on Sunday, Sept. 4th at 10:20 p.m. Ernest was an industrious young man, looking forward to the welfare of his mother whom he loved. He leaves to mourn their loss, besides his mother, eight brothers and sisters as follows: Frank, Grover, Alva and Archie Hendrickson, of Carlisle, Iowa; Isabell Smith, of Perry, Ia.; Pearl Smith, of Waukee, Ia.; Tina Neer, of Lacona, Ia.; and Elsie Nichols, of Valley Junction, Ia., besides many other relatives and friends. The funeral service was held in the United Brethren church at Norwood, Iowa, on Wednesday, Sept. 7, 1927, at 2 o'clock p.m., conducted by Rev. Mrs. F. W. Wolfe, of Thayer, Iowa.
