Paul Tressler, 86, of Loch Lynn, MD, died Wednesday, September 24, 2014 at Garrett County Memorial Hospital, Oakland, MD. Born October 15, 1927 in Lambert, PA, he was the son of the late Sherman Peter and Anna Laura (Opal) Tressler. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Park Tressler and Jim Tressler; a sister, Fern Staggs. Paul was the owner and operator of Tressler's Garage, Oakland, which he opened in 1955. He was a member of Faith Evangelical Free Church, Mt. Lake Park, MD, where he served as an elder. Paul served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was a member of the American Legion Post 71, Oakland and the V.F.W. Post 10077, Deer Park, MD. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Dorothy Jean (Simpson) Tressler; three sons, Steven P. Tressler and wife, Jean, Deer Park .; Robert A. Tressler and wife, Carmen, Mt. Lake Park; Kenneth R. Tressler and wife, Beth, Oakland; a daughter, Debora J. Runfola and husband, Steve, Morgantown, WV; a brother, Charles Tressler, Loch Lynn; three sisters, Leora Beitzel, Mt. Lake Park; Dorothy Beitzel, Oakland; Shirley Beitzel, Akron, OH; eight grandchildren, Alex, Eric, Geoff, Dennis, Nicole, Corey, Joe and Kelly; two great-grandchildren, Tyler and Haylee. Friends will be received at the Newman Funeral Homes, P.A., 1100 Memorial Dr., Oakland, on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Services will be conducted at the Faith Evangelical Free Church, Mt. Lake Park, on Saturday, September 27, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Carl Fike and Pastor Jeff Kroll officiating. Interment will be in the Pleasant Valley Cemetery.
