Description	:	Ernest Ray Holt, 25, son of Mr. and Mrs. Marshall M. Holt of Uniontown, and a popular and prominent young man of that vacinity, died yesterday afternoon at 1:25 at his home in Uniontown, following an illess of carcinoma which had its inception in February of this year. Holt of Uniontown, and a popular and prominent young man of that vacinity, died yesterday afternoon at 1:25 at his home in Uniontown, following an illess of carcinoma which had its inception in February of this year. He was a patient sufferer and received the devoted care of his wife and parents. Ray was born at Uniontown, on March 1, 1914. He attended the Uniontown schools, graduating from the high school in the class of 1933. He was a basketball player in school. Later he attended the Fort Scott Junior College, but before completing his schooling underwent an appendicitis operation. He then enrolled at a Kansas City business college. Coming back to Uniontown he engaged in general farming, specializing in Jersey and White Face cattle. He lived about a mile east of Uniontown. On August 7, 1938, he was married to Annabelle Hall, and she survives. Also surviving are the parents, and three sisters, Mrs. John Brown and Virginia and Maxine Holt, all of Uniontown. One brother is deceased. Ray was a lover of outdoor sports, taking a keep interest in basketball and baseball, managing the Uniontown teams in these two sports last season. He was a member of the Uniontown M.E. church and the I.O.O. lodge. Funeral services will be held tomorrow afternoon at 2:30 at the M.E. church at Uniontown, conducted by the Rev. J.R. Williams, assisted by the Rev. Rector Green, former pastor and close personal friend of the family. Interment will be in the Uniontown Cemetery." ============== June 8, 1939 Cicerone Newspaper The funeral services for Ray Holt, one of our best young men, born and reared in this community, were held at the M. church Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 and were attended by a large number of friends and acquaintances as well as many relatives from a distance. Rev. J. R. Williams had charge and was assisted by Ref. Nitcher, this city, and Rev. Green, of Altamont, Kansas. Internment was made in the Uniontown cemetery. Pallbearers were S. E. Holt, H. C. Holt, W. E. Holt, M. H. George, F. N. Weyant and Earl Wittsell ===============
