Funeral serices were held at 1:30 P.M. Saturday, November 5, 1994, at Pilgrim Lutheran Church in Quimby.Rev. Glen Keylon Officiated and burial was in Oak Hill Cemetery in Cherokee under the direction of the Ernest & Roethler Funeral Chapel. Mr Rubbert Was born August 7, 1901, in Amherst Township, rural Marcus, the son of F. E. and Mina ( mayer ) Rubbert. He married Luella Kielhorn October 1, 1939. She died March 6, 1956. He farmed south of Marcus, Northeast of Sutherland near German Town, and Fielding, and then for several years in the Washata area. He had lived at Strawberry Point since December 1993. Mr Rubbert was a member of Pilgrim Lutheran Church. Survivors include a sister, Helen and her husband Harris Specht of Marcus, two sisters-in- law, Margaret Rubbert and Mable Kielhorn, both of Cherokee, a brother-in-law, Earl Kielhorn in Africa, an aunt, Elsa Mayer of Remsen, and his special family, Martin and Marcia Hanson and their children of Strawberry Point, With whom he made his home.He was also preceded in death by two sisters, Edna Kielhorn Norviel and Emilie Moberly Ritter, and Brothers, Martin, Bill, Franz, and Albert In infancy.
