Description	:	NORTON -- Ernest W. Brousseau, 86, of Westport died Monday, April 22, 2002, at Epoch Nursing Home after a brief illness. He was the husband of Irene E. (Walker) Brousseau. They celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary in August 2001. Born in Rehoboth, he was the son of the late Wilfred O. and the late Mary Louise (Antaya) Brousseau. Brousseau, 86, of Westport died Monday, April 22, 2002, at Epoch Nursing Home after a brief illness. He was the husband of Irene E. (Walker) Brousseau. They celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary in August 2001. Born in Rehoboth, he was the son of the late Wilfred O. and the late Mary Louise (Antaya) Brousseau. He lived in Westport since retiring 25 years ago. Educated in Rehoboth, he was a graduate of Taunton High School, class of 1932. Mr. Brousseau was employed for 38 years as a signal station operation by the N.Y., N.H. and Hartford Railroad, and later by the Penn Central Railroad. He was a former 50-year member of the Calvin Presbyterian Church of Cumberland, R.I., where he served as trustee and elder. He later became a member of Smith Mills Congregational Church in Dartmouth. He became active in the Second Thursday Club, which sponsors a monthly hot meal and entertainment for seniors, serving as president. Mr. Brousseau was an avid deer hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed many trips to Elder Hostel programs throughout the country. He and his wife traveled often, and probably his most enjoyable trip was a safari to Kenya. Survivors include his widow; a daughter, Elizabeth Bruce of Amherst, N.H.; two sons, William Brousseau of Norton and Peter Brousseau and his wife, Beth, of Raymond, Maine; four brothers, Louis Brousseau of Rehoboth, Lawrence Brousseau of Livermore, Calif., Omer Brousseau and his wife, Carmela, of Rehoboth and Philip Brousseau and his wife, Phyllis, of Edgefield, S.C.; six sisters, Leona Waterman of Mansfield, Edna Bryan of Lewiston, Maine, Catherine Manning of Rehoboth, Doe Brousseau of Wendell Depot, Olive and her husband, Louis Prunier, of Oxford, Mass., and Frances and her husband, Frank Pimentel, of Brentwood, N.H; several grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
