Kenny died at 2:30 a.m. in St. Rita's hospital where he was taken in a Siferd ambulance after being hit by a car reportedly driven by Robert Young, 16, of 223 N. Cole-st, at Main and Spring-sts. Hospital attaches said Kenny suffered a fractured skull and numerous bruises. The driver told officers he was en route west on Spring-st at 8:30 p.m. Saturday and had crossed the intersection on a green light. He said Kenny was narrowly missed by a preceding car as he attempted to walk north across Spring-st. Young said Kenny turned around after the first car passed and stepped into the path of his vehicle. The impact of the crash tossed the pedestrian over the left front fender and against the windshield, the driver said. Kenny was unconscious when taken to the hospital. Mr. Kenny was an employe of the Republic Creosoting Co., and a member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles. Born in Moberly, Mo., Mr. Kenny had been a resident of Lima for 17 years. Surviving are his widow, Clara; two sisters, Miss Edna Kenny, Dayton, and Mrs. Laura Kohli, 573 Hazel-av; and one brother, John Kenny, Oxnard, Calif. The body will remain at the Siferd funeral home for services at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday. Rev. Paul N. Runk will officiate and burial will be in Fairview cemetery, Hardin-co.
