He was born to Sadie Sarah and Franklin Moses Predmore in Broken Bow, Neb., on April 14, 1918. He was the youngest of 11 children. Throughout his life he lived in Nebraska, Montana and Washington state. He served in the Army beginning on April 9, 1941, and was honorably discharged Sept. 14, 1945, after serving in World War II. He married Opal Spencer on June 24, 1941, they had two sons, Ervin Lynn and Dan Roy, both of Helena. He worked as a laundry manager at VA hospitals in Grand Island, Neb., and Fort Harrison and retired from Fort Vancouver, Wash. In 1979, he married his present wife, Arlene Predmore, of Olympia, Wash. His greatest joys in life were singing, traveling and auctioneering. He also had a deep love for the Lord. Many will remember him in his white cowboy hat entertaining them with his patriotic songs. He often conducted auctions to raise money for various charities. Ervin was preceded in death by his parents, six brothers: Art, Vern, Jim, Walt, Leo and Roy; four sisters: Pearl, Mabel, Florence and Esther; and his first wife, Opal Predmore. He is survived by his wife, Arlene Predmore, sons: Lynn (Linda) Predmore; Dan (Cathy) Predmore; stepdaughter Carol Vos, granddaughters: Jeri Lynn (Buck) Rea; Mikel (Ken) Robinson; one great-grandson Silas Buck Rea; sister-in-law Edith Predmore and numerous nieces and nephews. At Ervin's request a private graveside service was held at Fort Harrison, Montana Veterans Cemetery, officiated by his special friend Chaplain Russ Genaw. Ervin was loved by many, and his family would like to thank the caregivers at Aspen Gardens, Big Sky Care Center and Fort Harrison VA Hospital for their special attention and compassion shown to him during his last days. In lieu of donations, the family encourages you to spend a little extra time with your family, simply enjoying each other's company! Services are under the direction of Retz Funeral Home.
