Description	:	Following contributed by Robin Bentz #48459666 August 11, 2021 Funeral services for Ervin were held Tuesday, May 12, 1992, at 10:30 a.m. from Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, Elgin with Pastor Merlin Hallestad officiating. Ervin was a son of William Ottmar and Magdelina Otto. He attended school at Elgin. He grew to manhood on the family farm west of Elgin, helped his parents during the summer and worked in saw mills, sugar mills and copper mines in Montana and Idaho during the winter. Ervin was a son of William Ottmar and Magdelina Otto. He attended school at Elgin. He grew to manhood on the family farm west of Elgin, helped his parents during the summer and worked in saw mills, sugar mills and copper mines in Montana and Idaho during the winter. He married Gertrude Bentz in Immanuel Lutheran Church, New Leipzig on September 21, 1953. They began their life together south of New Leipzig where they farmed and Ervin was employed by Davenport Coal then in 1964 moved to his parents homestead where his family was raised and he farmed until his death. Ervin died from a massive heart attack. Ervin was a member of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church; had served on the New Leipzig School Board 1963 and 1964 and was a Grant County Commissioner for six years. Survived by his wife; three daughter and sons-in-law; two sons and daughters-in-law; one brother; and three sisters.
