Read More	June 11, 1940 PARENTS OF LEONARD AND DONNA ODVODY, ERVIN RUDY—Ervin Rudy Odvody was born to Joe Odvody and Mary Vogltanz Odvody on November 19, 1917, at Tobias, and passed away August 9, 1988, at the Lincoln General Hospital in Lincoln, at the age of 70 years, 8 months and 19 days. He was one of 4 children in the family. Ervin was raised on the farm he was born on and attended the country school there. He farmed with his father until he was united in marriage to Mildred Girmus. He farmed near Dorchester and Ohiowa. They then moved to Omaha where he worked at the Bomber Plant. He was called into th U. S. Army Air Corps for WWII. After the war ended, he returned to farming. They moved into Geneva, where he lived his remaining years while continuing to farm east of Milligan. Ervin was married to Mildred Girmus of Ohiowa, on June 11, 1940, and to them two children were born, a son Leonard, and daughter Donna. He enjoyed the farm animals and aiding the ill livestock in the community. He took pride and pleasure in breaking and training the horses that his grandchildren entered in the horse shows. The outdoors was a special place for him, and he enjoyed deer hunting with his friends on his farm. His pride and joy were his grandchildren and dearly enjoyed taking them from the city to his farm, where he taught them how to drive and to enjoy the many pleasures of farm life. Ervin was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Mary Odvody; by a brother, Ed Kolc, and by a granddaughter, Pamela Jean Odvody. He is survived by his wife, Mildred Odvody; son, Leonard Odvody; daughter, Mrs. Larry (Donna) Barrett; sisters, Bernice Girmus, and Mary Ann Guffey; six grandchildren; nieces, nephews and a host of friends. Funeral services were conducted from the Farmer & Son Funeral Home in Geneva on Thursday, August 11, with the Rev. Elton Walth officiating. Shaunna Lichti accompanied Curt Prater, who sang “Beyond the Sunset” and “In the Garden.” Those serving as pallbearers were Bobby, Eugene, Richard, John and Norman Girmus and Joe Monteforte.
