He retired in 1989 from REA Magnet Wire after 35 years and was engaged in farming. He served in the U.S. Army from 1951 to 1953. He was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Ossian. (Ed) Davis of Fort Wayne; stepchildren, Rick (Cathy) Bohnke of Cincinnati, Ohio, Karen (Greg) Alexander of Kokomo, Dianne (Mark) Ogden of Indianapolis, Beth (Ken) Newby of Kokomo; brothers, Fred (Rose) Graft of Fort Wayne, Dale (Doris) Graft of Orlando, Fla. and Wayne Graft of Ossian; sisters, Aldine Anderson of Clermont, Fla. and Shirley Milholland of Ossian; 21 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Katherine (Riebeling) Graft. Service is 3 p.m. Friday at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 7545 N 650 East, Ossian, with calling one hour prior. Calling also from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Elzey-Patterson-Rodak Funeral Home, 120 W. Mill Ossian. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Bethlehem Lutheran Endowment or Family Hospice and Palliative Care of Berne. Burial in Bethlehem Lutheran Cemetery.
