Description	:	Minden resident Erwin W. Albers, 76, died Tuesday, Aug. 22, 2000, at his home. Erwin Albers was born Feb. 18, 1924, to Ferdinand and Clara (Lohmeier) Albers in Kearney County. He grew up in the Minden area and graduated from Minden High School. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II. He then worked in construction. Erwin Albers was born Feb. 18, 1924, to Ferdinand and Clara (Lohmeier) Albers in Kearney County. He grew up in the Minden area and graduated from Minden High School. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II. He then worked in construction. On Sept. 30, 1951, he married Clara Halm in Syracuse. They lived in Minden where he worked construction. He also owned and operated Alber's Radiators Service until retiring in 1986. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Minden American Legion Post No. 94, Heartwell Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Carpenters Union. He also was active in Boy Scouts in Minden. Survivors are his wife; two sons, Larry of Knoxville, Tenn., and Lloyd of LaPorte, Texas; one daughter, Vickie Feddersen of Hastings; two brothers, Wilferd and Edgar, both of Minden; and two grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Herbert and Laverne, and one sister Darleen Keen.
