Description	:	Esker Patterson was born to parents Minnie Lee (Bostic) and Joseph D. Patterson. He married Stella or Estelle Giedinghagen on September 16, 1917. At the time of their marriage, both lived in White County, Arkansas, although Stella was from Sidon, and Esker lived in Rose Bud. At the time of their marriage, both lived in White County, Arkansas, although Stella was from Sidon, and Esker lived in Rose Bud. Stella was married to Esker and her cousin, LIzzie was married to Esker's brother, Dr. Jesse Patterson. Esker was a cotton farmer, father, and husband. His life ended abruptly when Esker was shot as he entered a store in Heafer, Crittenden County, Arkansas. The reason the storekeeper shot him was never publicly revealed, and the storekeeper did face the electric chair within a year of Esker's murder. Esker was 48 years old at the time of his death, and his daughter, Glenda was just a young girl, some months shy of her 12th Birthday. He is buried in Rose Bud Cemetery in Rose Bud, Arkansas. The name of the man who killed him was Jim Tacker, and he was a merchant in Heafer, Ark. Tacker was sentenced to die at Tucker State Prison Farm in Arkansas, where the electric chair was located. Jim Tacker was a father of several children, and was put to death within 11 months of the murder of Esker Patterson.
