She was born in 1908 in Eldon to Charlie and Stella Allee Allen. On Feb. 2, 1927 she was married to Frank Platter, who preceded her in death. She later married Floyd Baird, who also preceded her in death. Mrs. Baird was a member of the Overland Park Assembly of God Church. Platter Baird, 82, of Shawnee, Kan. died Sunday, Feb. 3, 1991 at Trinity Lutheran Manor in Merriam, Kan. She was born in 1908 in Eldon to Charlie and Stella Allee Allen. On Feb. 2, 1927 she was married to Frank Platter, who preceded her in death. She later married Floyd Baird, who also preceded her in death. Mrs. Baird was a member of the Overland Park Assembly of God Church. Surviving her are two children, Gaylord Platter and Lorena Thomas, both of Kansas City, Kan.; two brothers, Rev. Logan Allen and Raymond Allen, both of Eldon; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 6 at the Maple Hill Funeral Home. Officiating were her grandson, Rev. Billy Thomas, and her pastor, Rev. Philip Krieling, a former Versailles resident. Burial was at Maple Hill. Her brothers were unable to attend.
