She was born December 31, 1919 in Noble County, Indiana a daughter of the late Clarence and Dora Belle (Smith) Gaerte. Her formative years were spent in the Wolf Lake area where she attended Wolf Lake High School. On April 8, 1945, she was united in marriage to Wayne F. Mowry. They have always made their home in Wolf Lake area. She was employed for 11 years by Weatherhead, Columbia City and had formerly worked for General Electric, Fort Wayne. She was a member of the Wolf Lake United Methodist Church. Surviving include her husband of 71 years, Wayne; three daughters, Sue Ann (Gary) Williamson, Columbia City, Sally (Terry) Cripe, North Webster and Sandra Kay (Steve) Harrold, Wolf Lake; 5 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Forrest and Clifford Gaerte; a sister, Oldine Shroyer; a grandson, Mark Williamson and a great grandson, David Maxwell. There will be a private family burial at the Wolf Lake Cemetery.
