MRS ESTELLA LOVITT BURNS--OBIT Companion of Job A Burns near Grand River, Iowa died Dec 7, 1904 as a result of a surgical operation performed Tuesday, Dec 6. The people of Grand River were greatly shocked when it became known that she had so suddenly died. Estella Lovitt born near Clearfield in Taylor Co, October 26, 1877 and grew to womanhood in that country where she had a large circle of friends. June 30, 1901 she was united in marriage to J A Burns. This union was blest with two children, one dying in infancy, the other still living. This married life of three years was replete with happiness. Mr. Burns did all that could be done for the recovery of his splendid wife's health. Medical skill was employed, although little hope was given by the doctors for the operation and none without it. The remains were brought to Clearfield, Iowa for interment. The funeral services were conducted by Rev Bollinger in the Methodist Church. The sermon was preached from I John 3:16, "And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you into myself that where I am there ye may be also." Mr. Burns feels very grateful for all the kindness shown during his affliction.
