Markle, of Spring Grove, entered into God's eternal care February 2, 2012, surrounded by her loving family. Esther was the loving wife of Raymond L. Markle, with whom she would have celebrated 65 years of marriage with on April 5, 2012. Born August 10, 1925, in Heidelberg Township, she was the daughter of the late Ralph E. and Beulah (Rohrbaugh) Becker. Esther was a member of Stillmeadow Church of the Nazarene in York. Previously, she was a member of the Hanover Church of the Nazarene, where she served as a Bible school teacher, Sunday school teacher, as well as the Superintendent of the Cradle Roll. She was a very productive gardener and a home canner. In addition to her husband, Esther is survived by three sons, Fred R. Markle and wife, Edna of Hanover, Rodney A. Markle and wife, Denise of Hanover, and Timothy L. Markle and wife, Sally of Spring Grove; one daughter, Brenda A. Kneller of Hanover; 11 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and one step great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her son-in-law, Earl Kneller; three brothers, Stuart Becker, Pfc. Paul Becker, and Earl Becker; and one sister, Grace Noble-Maus. A funeral service to celebrate and remember Esther's life will be held 10:30 a.m., February 7, 2012, at the Hanover Church of the Brethren, Hanover, with her pastor, the Rev. Dr. Roy Carnahan of the Stillmeadow Church of the Nazarene, officiating. Burial will be in St. Paul's (Dubs) Church Cemetery, Hanover.
