Description	:	Funeral services for Esther B. Tesch, 98, of Choteau were held at 2 p.m. Friday, March 7 at Gorder funeral Home Chapel in Choteau with Rev. Terry Dunn, pastor of United Methodist Church officiating. Mrs. Tesch died Tuesday, March 4, 1986, at Teton Nursing Home where she had been a resident since November 1977. Esther Tesch was born at Chatham, Ontario, Canada, May 22, 1887, a daughter of Thomas Parker and Sarah Jane Payne Bateman. Esther Tesch was born at Chatham, Ontario, Canada, May 22, 1887, a daughter of Thomas Parker and Sarah Jane Payne Bateman. She attended school there, worked for the Chatham Woolen Mill and later apprenticed to a dressmaker. She married to Frederick Andrew Tesch, Sept. 23, 1910 at Chatham. They lived in Chicago and later in Windsor, Ontario, Canada. Mrs. Tesch became supervisor at dress factories in Detroit and Coldwater, Mich. And following her retirement there was called back to work in these factories during World War II. In 1946 they moved to Choteau to make their home and she was a volunteer librarian here for many years. Her husband died Dec. 28, 1966. Her hobbies included gardening and oil painting. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Choteau, took an active part in Women’s Society of Christian Service and was a life member of Order of Eastern Star. Surviving are two sons, Charles F. Tesch, Albert T. Tesch; one daughter, Mrs. Calvin (Edith T.) Southard, all of Choteau; eight grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Preceding her in death were her husband, three brothers, two sisters and one infant son. Memorials may be given to Multiple Sclerosis Society marked for research or for video cassette recorder for Teton Nursing Home.
