She died June 16, 1965, at York, Neb., at the age of 64 years. At the age of 13, her mother died and she moved to the I.O.O.F. home at York, where she lived during her school years. She died June 16, 1965, at York, Neb., at the age of 64 years. At the age of 13, her mother died and she moved to the I.O.O.F. home at York, where she lived during her school years. She was baptized and received into membership in the Christian Church at York when 13 years old. She graduated from the York high school in 1919. Esther was united in marriage to Wiley L. Garner in 1922. Seven children were born to this union: Paul L., Lloyd R., Helen J., Betty L., William R., Thomas I., and Allen S. Mrs. Garner took pride in the fact that all five of her sons served in the paratroops during their military service. Mrs. Garner made her home in Noel, Mo., from 1953 to 1963. During this time she united with the Methodist Church of Noel where her membership was held at the time of her death. She had made her home with her daughters, Mrs. William Rosenquist of York and Mrs. Robert H. Robinson of Geneva since 1963. Esther was preceded in death by her parents and by a sister, Francis Howarth Rauch. She is survived by her seven children: Paul of Fort Smith, Ark., Lloyd of Fort Smith, Ark., Helen (Mrs. Robert H. Robinson) of Geneva, Mrs. Betty Grant Rosenquist of York, William of Fort Smith, Ark., Thomas, who is serving in the paratroops in Germany and Allen, a student at Kansas State College at Pittsburg, Kas. In addition to her children, she leaves to mourn her passing, 23 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two brothers, Paul Howarth of Noel, Mo., and Russell Howarth of Kansas City, Mo.; a sister, Mrs. Pat (Ruth) Neal of Kansas city, Mo., and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held Saturday, June 19, at 3 p.m. at the Metz Mortuary in York with Rev. Robert Kasper of Geneva officiating. Pallbearers were sons and a cousin of the deceased. Interment was in Greenwood Cemetery in York. The Nebraska Signal June 24th, 1965.
